Clowning at Military Family Fun Fair
On Saturday August 20, a group of us clowned at the Military Family Fun Fair Day held outside at the Bremerton Elks Club, a beautiful site overlooking Puget Sound.
Northwestmilitary.com and Navy Families Kitsap, along with USAA sponsored the event – wanting to honor our military families for their sacrifices. About 20 vendors and nonprofits attended, and had canopied areas with information for the roughly 300 families who attended the event. Also included were free pony rides, miniature golf, free cotton candy and shaved ice, prizes, and lots of freebies, give-aways and raffle prizes.
Duffy, Flossy, Sparkes and Bumbles represented us, making balloons sculptures and playing with the kids and their parents who attended.
Northwestmilitary.com notes that the south Puget Sound military market dominates all others: 47,926 Troops, 15,804 Civilian Employees, 58,862 Family Members, 31,550 Retirees, with a $5.8 Billion payroll, 70% live off base, 2nd largest employer in WA, 1.8% of states GDP. 60% of military are married, 40% own their own home.
For all us clowns,
