Peru 2020 with Komedyplast
In mid-January, four Caring Clowns International clowns supported Komedyplast for the 15th consecutive year in their medical mission to Peru performing complex craniofacial reconstructive surgeries free for poor children.
This year, Duffy, Flora, Flossy, and Sparkles participated. The medical team performed 12 surgeries. Since completion of the trip, the team’s Peruvian medical counterparts reported that all patients are doing well.
As a memento for this historic trip, team members and key supporters were given memorial paperweight gifts celebrating the 15th year of these missions.
During this ten day trip, the clowns entertained kids and their families on Screening Day, when the doctors reviewed potential surgery cases to perform, then in pre-op and post-op with Komedyplast patients, and clowning in the hospital court yard and in every ward of the 300 bed hospital. We were also delighted to have Peruvian clown “Laly” join us for the second year.
In addition to all this frivolity for the clowns, the staff of the Casa Andina Hotel where the visiting group has stayed for the past 5 years, honored the clowns with a framed “Thank You” plaque.
We look forward to many more years in our partnership with Komedyplast and these trips changing the lives of kids.

One Response to Peru 2020 with Komedyplast
Fabulous! Wow – 15 years working with Komedyplast to help kids have a healthier happier life is an amazing accomplishment. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to be a small part of that effort. May you all continue this project for many years to come.
